Road and Traffic 2012: The wide range of products and services for the region’s road infrastructure
Road & Traffic 2012, the 2nd Caspian International Road Infrastructure and Public Transport Exhibition, opened today. The broad range of products and services for the region’s road infrastructure is being demonstrated at this trade show held at Baku Expo Centre. This exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and it has gathered 50 companies from 12 countries. Iteca Caspian LLC and its partner, ITE Group plc, are the organizers of this exhibition and its partners are JSC Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), Azerfon LLC, Greenwich Travel Club and the Hilton Baku and Caucasus Point hotels.
The steadily increasing number of road and transport infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan has attracted leading international companies eager to play a part in creating an advanced, high-quality transport system. Road and Traffic 2012 aims to display the latest road construction developments, while helping to bring advanced information technology to traffic management and importing new vehicles for public transport. This exhibition has been designed to benefit regional and international producers and suppliers of products, materials, services and technologies for developing transport infrastructure.
The Minister for Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr Ziya Mammadov, observed at the official opening ceremony that, “…such trade shows offer a fine opportunity to familiarize oneself with the latest achievements of the industry, including its modern technology and innovative equipment. The exhibition platform is an ideal place to meet with specialists, to establish close business relations and to create the foundations for future co-operation. The stands of companies and organizations from the various countries present at the exhibition display the inter-related spheres of transport, transit, logistics, road construction and public transport. TransCaspian 2012 and Road and Traffic 2012 have again proved that the economic development in Azerbaijan attracts ever more global companies interested in the development of co-operation with our country. There are various thematic expositions present at the exhibition, covering all sections of road infrastructure: road safety; public transport; road infrastructure; the innovative technologies in road surfacing, particularly soundproof asphalt and cold surfaces; the latest achievements in parking systems; intelligent systems of transport management; control devices and computers for drivers; and automatic toll payment systems.
The road construction sector is widely represented this year, with exhibitors including JSC Azeryolservis, Akkord Senaye Tikinti Investisiya Korporasiyasi, JSC Azerkorpu, LLC Azvirt, Kolin Inshaat Turizm Senaye ve Ticaret A.S., Korpu-Bina-Tikinti, Polat Yol Yapi, Strabag Sp Z.O.O, New Technologies of Road Facility Management, Improtex Trucks and Buses, Borusan Makina, and Cesan Cevre Sagligi San. Ltd. STI. At the same time, operators of national public transport and Baku Metro are participating in the exhibition.
Companies from Azerbaijan, Turkey and the Czech Republic will be presenting in the Information Technologies and Public Transport sector. Baku Intelligent Transport Management Centre will demonstrate its online surveillance systems. In addition, municipal vehicles, escalators and taxi services will be on display at the exhibition.
